Pat Grayson is an Australian writer, publisher, educational advocate and lifelong believer in the power of words, learning and personal potential.
Over many years, Pat has written and published extensively, producing around 70 titles through his publishing work. His writing has covered a broad range of subjects, reflecting his interest in people, personal growth, creativity and the many ways in which individuals can discover and develop their own potential. As a writing coach, he has helped dozens of aspiring writers turn their ideas and experiences into books and other forms of published work.
For Pat, writing and publishing have never been simply about producing books. Words are a means of communicating ideas, sharing experience and, ideally, making a positive difference in the lives of others. This philosophy is reflected in his publishing work and in his involvement with authors and emerging writers.
His own writing has received recognition, including an Independent Press Award for Seeds of Potential, and he continues to develop new writing and publishing projects.
A significant part of Pat’s more recent work has grown from his own experience of dyslexia and dysgraphia, which have been a significant limitation throughout his life.”. As the creator of Easy Spelling, he is developing an Australian educational initiative designed to help people understand how English spelling works, rather than simply memorising endless lists of words.
Easy Spelling is a social enterprise whose profits are used for good. It aims to make practical, evidence-informed literacy resources more accessible, including for people who have struggled with spelling or missed important foundations in their education.
At the heart of both Pat’s writing and educational work is a similar belief: that people can often achieve far more when they are given the right information, encouragement and tools to understand something for themselves.
Now in his seventies, Pat continues to write, publish and create. His current work brings together many of the interests that have shaped his life — writing, education, communication and a desire to make useful knowledge accessible to as many people as possible.
